Stephen McCoach, C.A.
CEO, Secretary and Co-Chairman
Mr. McCoach has significant experience in finance and administrative management functions in both public and private companies. Mr. McCoach was a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Ginseng from December 1989 to June 1997 and currently holds the position of CEO, Secretary and Co-Chairman.
Mr. McCoach has a broad range of experience in business management and strategic planning, public and private financing and investment analysis. He has also developed extensive contacts throughout the ginseng industry in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
Mr. McCoach obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and became a chartered accountant with KPMG. Mr. McCoach is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the British Columbia Institute of Chartered Accountants
and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Hugh R. Cartwright
President and Co-Chairmain
Mr. Cartwright was a co-founder of Imperial Ginseng and is currently the President and Co-Chairman. He has extensive contacts in the ginseng industry throughout North America and Asia and a strong contact base with Canadian broker dealers. Mr. Cartwright has a broad range of experience in business management, strategic planning and finance.
Mr. Cartwright graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in finance and successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course.
Maurice Levesque
Executive Vice-President and Director
Mr. Levesque is Managing Director, President, a Director and a founder of Qwest Investment Management Corp. ("QIM"). Mr. Levesque is the Chief Compliance Officer, a Director and a founder of Qwest Investment Fund Management Ltd., an investment counsellor and portfolio management company and the President, a Director and a founder of Heritage Bancorp Ltd., as asset and administrative management company
both companies being a subsidiary of QIM. Mr. Levesque has significant experience in private and public company management, strategic planning, financing and sales and marketing.
Mr. Levesque graduated from The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology with a diploma in Administration Management. Mr. Levesque is a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Joseph A. Rogers
Director
Mr. Rogers has over thirty years experience in operating and managing agricultural businesses. From June 1991 to March 1994, Mr. Rogers was the Vice-President, Operations of the Company responsible for all ongoing operational activities.
Commencing April 1994 to December 1996, as Executive Vice-President of Imperial Ginseng, Mr. Rogers was responsible for all British Columbia and Ontario operational activities as well as overseeing the operations of GB Health Products Ltd. in Asia. Mr. Rogers left the Company in 1996 to develop and manage a large cranberry farming operation and today is the President of Opus Cranberries Corporation.
From 1954 to 1962 Mr. Rogers served as a Captain and Flight Commander, United States Air Force, multi-engine jet aircraft. Besides operating his own agricultural business from 1963 to 1987 Mr. Rogers also served as President and Director of the B.C. Livestock Producers Cooperative Association from 1967 to 1978 and from 1979 to 1987 Mr. Rogers was Managing Director of Southern Interior Beef Corporation where he was responsible for developing and managing that corporation from inception to it becoming the largest business of its kind in British Columbia. Among his public service positions Mr. Rogers served as Commissioner (appointed by the Government of B.C.) of the Provincial Agricultural Land Commission and as Project Officer for the Beef Industry Development Committee for British Columbia.
James Chang, M.A., M.B.A, C.P.A. (U.S.)
Director
Mr. Chang held the position of Vice-President, Marketing and International Operations of Imperial Ginseng until June 1997, and the President of Imperial Ginseng until Feb 28, 2006.
Mr. Chang is also the President of Golden Phoenix Ventures Inc., a company specializing in brokering ginseng. Mr. Chang has broad business experience in the public and private sectors and also has extensive contacts in the ginseng industry.
Dr. Aik Ping Eng, M.D.
Director
Dr. Eng is the President of D. Keane Enterprises, a company involved in brokering American ginseng to Asia since 1986. D. Keane Enterprises also owns and operates a chain of wholesale and retail ginseng and ginseng product stores in Malaysia.
Dr. Eng has been a practicing physician in Vancouver for many years and brings with him extensive knowledge in grading, marketing and distributing ginseng as well as a strong contact base in the ginseng industry in Asia. |
